Ever sat down to enjoy a cold one and thought, “I just need more sparkle in my life” ? Congratulations, glitter-infused beer is now a thing. Don’t worry, it’s not the craft-time herpes kind of glitter, this is an edible shimmery decorating dust (often called Luster Dust) used widely in cake decorating. And it’s making its way into kegs and bottles everywhere.

Technically, not all luster dust is edible. BUT there is an FDA-approved version that’s made with sugar, maltodextrin, and mica-based pearlescent pigments. Ya, I didn’t know what the hell those last two were either…
